Most family photoshoots take place outdoors at a location of your choice around Derby or Derbyshire — parks, woodland, open fields or even your own garden all work brilliantly. If you’re not sure where to go, I’m happy to suggest locations that photograph beautifully and work well for kids.

Family photography sessions last around 1 hour. This gives us plenty of time for relaxed portraits, candid moments and breaks if little ones need them — no rushing, no pressure.

Neutral colours, soft tones and layers always photograph best. Try to avoid large logos or busy patterns. Once you’ve booked, I’m happy to give you simple outfit advice to help everything look natural and timeless.

Not at all (honestly, most families say this!). My style of natural family photography is relaxed and informal — no stiff posing or forced smiles. I’ll guide you gently so it feels more like a walk and a chat than a photoshoot.

Totally normal — and absolutely fine. I work with kids, not against them. Some of the best family photos come from letting kids be themselves. There’s no pressure for anyone to behave perfectly.

Your family photoshoot includes 5 professionally edited digital images of your choice. You’ll also have the option to upgrade to the full gallery or purchase additional images, prints or albums if you’d like more.

Your online gallery will be ready within 2–3 weeks of your photoshoot. From there, you can select your favourites and download your images.

Yes — family photoshoots run all year, and each season has its own look. Summer evenings, autumn colours and spring light are especially popular, but winter shoots can be just as lovely.
